Spring Beginner Level Ride – Millwoods to Muttart/Cloverdale
May 6 @ 12:30 - 15:30
Saturday May 6, 2017 @ 12:30PM
Weather permitting: Ride will occur if it is not raining or snowing and the temperature cut-off is 5 degrees as the daily high.
Duration: About 3 hours
Location: Meet in the parking lot, just NE of the Holy Trinity Catholic High School (7007 28 Ave NW) which is just east of the Millwoods Recreation Centre. The parking lot is between the soccer fields and 28 Ave.
Coordinator: Dennis Nolan, cell: 780-298-0311, email@example.com
Details: About 26 km, riding partly on roads through neighbourhoods and partly along multi-use paths. We start by heading north and west to the bike path east of 91 St, and follow it up through Mill Creek, by the Muttart, around Cloverdale and south to the Cafe Bicylette at 8627 91 St for a 20 minute quick cafe and washroom stop. Then re-enter the Mill Creek ravine and head south again back to our starting point.
One big hill, a few small hills, easy pace, 15 – 18 km/hr.
Please ride in control and safely, and watch for pedestrians and dogs. Dennis will make sure that we all stay together and gather at many points along the route, so that no one is left behind! If you need to walk part of the hills, that’s okay, we’ll wait for you at the top of the hill.
Items one could bring: helmet, water, snack, money, repair kit, spare tube, small pump, clothing as appropriate including rain gear if there’s any chance of rain.
