Group Ride on Hwy 22

Summer Events

During the spring, summer and fall EBTC runs numerous bicycling day rides and out-of-town trips. Choices range from a short evening ramble to a challenging multi-day trip. You may get to know us by attending a regular weekly event such as the social Wednesday night Show and Go or the Tuesday evening workout "Sweat Ride". For those people new to riding in a group or riding longer distances, consider signing up for the Cycling 101 course.

Winter Events

During the winter, EBTC offers a wide range of recreational and social events in its schedule. During the week, the Wednesday evening Show and Go change to walks in the city if there is no snow or turns into a Snow and Go, night skiing in the river valley when there is enough snow on the ground.  On the weekends, the EBTC explores some of the local cross country ski areas or goes further afield for weekend cross-country ski trips to such places as Kananaskis Country or Banff.

Social Events

Members of the Edmonton Bicycle and Touring Club tend to be a friendly group who enjoy getting together for fun times.  Whether it is getting together for coffee after a ride or spending some weekend hours "Neon Bowling", we have fun and would be pleased if you could join us.

Marquee EventStart of the 2009 TDA 180km ride

The Tour de l'Alberta (TDA) is the EBTC's annual flagship event.  It is a one day event held each July with different distance routes; 180km, 100km, 50km, 20km, and 3km, to suit all cycling abilities. This fun ride takes you through some of the French Heritage towns and villages, north of Edmonton.  It is not a race, but does celebrate to some minor degree the difficulty and challenges of the professional cyclists of the peloton in the "Tour de France".  More information about this ride can be found on the official website: http://www.tourdalberta.ca/

Weekly Events

These are day trips that repeat on the same day of the week over a number of weeks.  They change with the seasons; cycling in the spring, summer and fall, walking during the spring, fall and sometimes summer as well; and cross country skiing during the winter.  Registration for the weekly events is normally not required.  Just show up!!
