Laurier Heights/Quesnell Footbridge Closure

The City of Edmonton will be undertaking maintenance and rehabilitation work on the Laurier Heights/Quesnell footbridge from July 5th until September 30th.The bridge will be closed during this time but a shuttle bus will be available 7-10 am and 4-7 pm to help people cross Whitemud Drive.

What is Firewheels? Why should I subscribe?

Do you have a few free hours one day and want to see if anyone else can join you for a ride without needing to schedule a formal event? Do you have a bike to sell? Do you need a bike? Need a ride to an event? Do you want to go for a walk or go skiing during the winter? Need an opinion on steel versus aluminum versus carbon fibre versus titanium versus bamboo?

For all these questions and more there is Firewheels, a mailing list operated by EBTC members Jasmine Hohenstein and Marvin Bloos. While many subscribers are EBTC members it also enjoys many subscribers from the Edmonton Nordic Ski Club as well as other fitness-minded individuals.

Please keep in mind though that any events done through Firewheels are not EBTC sanctioned events and thus you are not insured through the EBTC or eligible for any other EBTC privileges.
